The truth is I started smoking at 21 after I experience a messy relationship. The reason it affected me so badly was because I did not expect that person to do what they did plus I was still young and naive to a lot of things. 17 years later and more mature I have come to realise that should never have been an issue and I should never have wasted my time with the individual in question because I have come to realise if it was not me it would have been someone else.

Since then I have been a regular Cannabis user on and off while trying my best to deal with my own demons and achieve my goals and ambitions. The biggest significant movement which influenced me to stop Cannabis smoke is down to 3 reasons:

1) COVID-19 LOCKDOWN

During the Lock down which started sometime around March/April 2020 I was presented with a difficult situation where I had lost my job and had to stay home by myself. Literally I was the only person in my house. With a lack of funds I could not support my habit. This lead me to go 2 weeks without smoking anything. It was the weirdest feeling. A friend advised me to kick start an online business selling items online. So I invested my time and focused establishing what is now called “Urban Glam Life Boutique”.
I quickly realised that I have “Will-Power” and have always had it. It was the negative members of my family and associations which was making this journey and realisation more complicated an d negative than it needed to be. Once I realised I could go 1,2,3, 3 and weeks without it I realised there was more benefits to not smoking than smoking.

As a result I said to myself that from that day “I WILL NO LONGER HAVE A HABIT”.

If I do it will be out of choice not because I feel I am phening for it. I also started to do my research into different strands of Cannabis. I started to smoke less strong and harmful cannabis and then realised it affected me in a way I was even more productive rather than sleeping and eating most of the day.

As my confidence and will-power grows I am learning I am more productive and talented when I do not smoke. Obvious a bit of inspiration is nice but I have come to realise if you want to start and finish a creative project you do not need to smoke. This will slow you down.

2) THE WORLD IS CHANGING

When I say the World is changing I mean as a result of Covid-19 the world we live in today is changing dramatically. Social Distancing and created more space between people and less socialising which means gossiping and word of mouth has reduced but Social Media has replaced this. The way we shop has changed with more people choosing to shop online, more people wanting to save money, jobs are being lost and whole industries are disappearing while new ones are being born. Its a crazy time right now and the last thing you want is to have a dependency on Cannabis. Now I am not condemning it as I guess a little toke now and then wont harm nobody but it depends on your Mental Health too. With an increase in pressure as we experience the world transforming dealing with pressure can be difficult to balance with a drug dependency. I strongly advise to get this under control because the financial and economic times look very uncertain.

3) PEERS & PEER PRESSURE

You would think a grown man would not have a problem with Peer Pressure but what if it is so-called people apply a fake friendship so that you can fund their habit! I had to dis-associate myself from two people recently because they showed me behaviours that suggest serious mental health.
From one individual I would receive phone calls at night and early in the morning telling em he has no food in his friend or cant top up his gas but he charges people to use his studio. For someone reason his responsibilities fell on me. I found this strange as I was paying him for studio time. The day I chose to stop using his studio all hell broke loose. Started telling me if I buy Cannabis I must go to his house. I have never heard or witnessed this before. I started to realise some people hide their Mental Health well and some people feel they have to violate another human beings “Human Rights”. I was forced to report the matter to the Police but left out the Cannabis. Even if you have a drug dependency this is not how you treat another Human Being. It is Wrong.


The other strange experience I had is when I asked to stay with a friend while I sorted myself out. He agreed and I thought this is a cool friend. 2 days into staying with him he had got some peers of his I do not know act very strange. They kept making reference to £10 being in my pocket and people lose their life because of £10. I quickly realised it was my so called friend who was orchestrating this. He had asked me for £10 and i told him I can not because I needed to travel to pick up some stock for my online shop. So when you simply add 1 and 2 together it does not take a genius to figure out what was going. I also realised that every time I spend money in his local shop, he would also know what I bought, even if he was not there! I realised the sort of individual I was living with.


The next morning this same individual suggested in order to stay with him I must spend £10 everyday to support his habit. This is when I had enough and told him that I will leave and thanks for the short help. I mean I did not stay there free. I gave him money for gas and electric and bought bread, milk, food and even toilet paper. This is when I realised that having drug dependency is a serious issue. Did I forget to mention during the lock-down this same person accused me and another female associate for a spiritual attack on him. The reality is during the lock-down he had no money for Cannabis and was experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Instead of using common sense to realise he is withdrawing he felt accuse his friend who has helped and supported him on so many occasions of a Spiritual attack. Even though I was 4 hours drive away. It was strange.


CONCLUSION
I have concluded that I will stop engaging in smoking Cannabis. I will also stop my association with negative people who smoke Cannabis because very often they tend to scheme ad fabricate all sorts of untruths in order to just get a smoke. Some people think you will even question your sexuality because of your dependency – NO THANK YOU!
Again, I am not judging but if you can relate than you know what I am talking about. You should not be treated negatively because someone else has a drug dependency. You should not get abuse for it either

TIPS TO STOP OR CUT DOWN

  1. CONVINCE YOURSELF YOU NEED TO STOP/CUT DOWN 1ST !!!
  2. IMMEDIATELY CUT DOWN. YOU CAN DO THIS BY ADDING MORE ACTIVITIES TO YOUR DAY. THE MORE BUSIER YOU ARE, THE MORE YOUR MIND IS OCCUPIED AND NATURALLY YOU WILL START TO CUT DOWN. GETTING BACK INTO REGULAR WORK IS ANOTHER GOOD METHOD.
  3. LEARN TO THINK MORE POSITIVELY. WE HAVE ALL BEEN HURT… BUT IT MAKES YOU STRONGER. TRY TO BE MORE POSITIVE AND HAPPY ABOUT LIFE. REMOVE THE THINGS THAT MAKE YOU UNHAPPY. HAVE LESS INTERACTION WITH THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE YOU FEEL NEGATIVE. THIS WILL IMPROVE YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND THEREFORE CREATING A HAPPIER SPACE. IT BETTER TO SMOKE BEING HAPPY THEN BEING UPSET AND ANGRY AS THIS IS WHAT LEADS TO TROUBLE.
  4. EAT REGULARLY AND HEALTHIER. THIS IS A GREAT HELP BECAUSE IF YOU EAT PROPERLY YOUR BODY WILL BE IN A BETTER POSITION TO DEAL WITH ANYTHING. A HEALTHY BODY CAN DEAL BETTER WITH A DRUG DEPENDENCY. YOU WILL FIND YOUR BODY WILL ASSIST YOU. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE, ITS CRAZY!
  5. DRINK MORE WATER – TRUST ME! WATER WILL TAKE OUT IMPURITIES THAT WILL MAKE WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS EASIER TO DEAL WITH. IT WILL KEEP YOUR BODY HYDRATED YOU WILL FIND THAT SMOKING HAS A DIFFERENT FEEL.
  6. QUESTION YOUR ASSOCIATION – ASK YOURSELF IF YOUR PEERS CAN HELP IMPROVE YOUR LIFE WITH ADVICE AND REFERRALS. IF NOT THIS IS A NO BRAINIER. IF ALL YOU FIND YOURSELF DO IS SMOKE AS YOURSELF IF THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO BE IN 5 YEARS TIME. I HAD THIS REALISATION AND IT CHANGED MY LIFE FOR THE BETTER.

I forgot to mention that regular exercise is another great tip. This gets the blood pumping around the body creating the vital chemicals needed to kick-start your body. You will also sweat out the impurities in your body from smoking.
